Northstar School is a K-8th grade Islamic school in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded in 2002, Northstar has grown from a student body of 7 students, to one of over 120 diverse and eager, young Muslim learners. Northstar has earned a reputation as a pioneer and role model in Islamic schooling, employing a range of cutting edge and time-tested educational methods.  With a dynamic curriculum that integrates classical Islamic sciences with a first-rate academic program, Northstar aims to nurture the “mind, body, and spirit” of its children.

Our program aims to promote human excellence by cultivating students, in every grade level, who possess: a well-trained mind, healthy body, good manners, and exceptional character. By using a combination of both traditional Islamic teaching methods as well as modern methods of education, along with the duas (supplications) and commitment of the Northstar Community, we are confident these goals can be accomplished.

THE “BUILD A LEGACY” FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
Due in large part to the outstanding work of its teachers and staff, the commitment of its students and families, and the enthusiastic support of scholars and the local community, Northstar School is now approaching an exciting new phase in its endeavor. After many years of renting smaller, often inadequate school sites, Northstar is now ready to settle down permanently into a site that will serve as it’s future campus for many years to come. A new home for Northstar will open the way for it to dramatically improve its educational offering, expand its student body, streamline its operations, and firmly and finally set its roots for the exciting growth that lays ahead of it.

The Build A Legacy fundraising campaign seeks to raise the $800K that will allow Northstar to secure the down payment on the site that will be its future home.
Few causes are more important to the future of our community than the education of our children. Your generous donations are a way for you to become a patron of this noble project, and attain the immense rewards that are associated with it. We are deeply grateful for your support.

Northstar School invites all young Muslims (7 -12 years) to participate this competition.

Poem Criteria:
Must match current theme
Must be the CHILD’S original poetry in their own words
Must be submitted with a signed Entry Form
Must not have won any other competition or have been published
Submission Period – February 14 – February 28

Winners:
According to age group (7-9 and 10-12 years)
Announced at Northstar School’s Annual Spring Dinner
Will be awarded a trophy and certificate signed by the final judges
